Enhanced Capacity Permit Review Procedure

  • The City of Port Townsend is striving to meet statutory deadlines on permit reviews as codified in the Port Townsend Municipal Code. However, due to staffing shortage and permit volumes, we estimate an additional 3-month delay on top of statutory deadlines.
  • City ordinances allow applicants to pay for an Enhanced Capacity Review for land use applications, which is additional cost on top of City permit fees for an external contractor to review the application. This review may save time should the application be consistent with City codes on the first submittal. Please note subsequent revisions add additional time. Hourly rates for our on-call contractor is available upon request.
  • If interested in Enhanced Capacity Review, please check the appropriate box on your application. A task order will be generated with estimated costs for your review and approval. On call task costs will be due prior to the start of each review.
