Chetzemoka Park - Kitchen Shelter

Chetzemoka Park - Kitchen Shelter

Please note: The Chetzemoka Kitchen Shelter will be closed indefinitely due to the need for extensive repairs.

About the Kitchen Shelter and Park
Chetzemoka is a beautifully landscaped Victorian park constructed in 1904 and is available for rent year-round, however, from the middle of October until the middle of March, the Kitchen Shelter is winterized, and there is no running water available. This picturesque 6.4-acre public park overlooks Admiralty Inlet with breathtaking views of the Puget Sound waterways and the Cascade Mountains. The park has expansive lawns, gardens, mature trees, a Gazebo/Bandstand, Kitchen Shelter, ADA restrooms, playground and direct access to the beach. All these amenities make this park a popular setting for weddings, birthday parties, family reunions, and other special celebrations.

The Kitchen Shelter may be reserved for the hours the park is open (sunrise to dusk). The shelter comes equipped with electrical outlets, a wood-burning fireplace plus two picnic tables which must remain inside the building at all times. Located outside the shelter are multiple tables, benches and a barbeque grill for use by the general public. The tables and grills located outside of the Kitchen Shelter do not come with the rental, but they may be used on a first come first serve basis.

The City regulates group use of the park to ensure that it is enjoyed in a safe and environmentally sound manner and that private group use of the facility does not diminish the enjoyment of the park by the general public. If an event is planned during the workweek, please note that our crews may also be in the park using a mower, leaf blowers, or other types of loud maintenance equipment. To allow for regularly scheduled maintenance of the park on Mondays or Fridays, all weddings will be limited to a Saturday or Sunday only with one large event permitted per weekend (which includes Friday).

Alcohol is permitted if the appropriate insurance & permit/license is obtained and openly displayed at the event. All alcohol must be consumed within 10 feet of the shelter and the picnic tables. Individuals attending the event may visit other areas of the park providing they are not in possession of any alcohol.
