General Description
Bishop Park is an open-lawned park with ornamental bushes and trees planted along the perimeter. There is a shelter built over a picnic table with a drinking fountain. History
Bishop Play Park shares its history with the Bishop Trails. In April 1966, William and Astrid Bishop ‘dedicat(ed) to the use of the public forever all streets, avenues, places, and parks…” associated with the Bishop Park and its trails. In 2001, a ship playset was added to the park. Then in 2022, a swing set and several more play features, including a spin cup and rocker, were added to the play park. Accessibility features were also improved that year with the addition of an accessible trail that leads to the playground. Currently, Bishop Play Park is one of the main amenities provided by the City to the rapidly developing Southwest portion of town.
