Adorning the restroom facilities at Kah Tai Lagoon Park, the Kah Tai Community Tiles are a vibrant display of local creativity and community spirit. Coordinated by artist and educator Yvonne Pepin-Wakefield, this project invited Port Townsend schoolchildren to design tiles that reflect their unique perspectives and artistic expressions. The result is a colorful mosaic that celebrates the connection between art, nature, and community. This installation, brought to life through collaboration and education, not only enhances the park's facilities but also reflects Port Townsend's commitment to fostering creativity and preserving its artistic heritage for future generations.
