Arts Grants

The Port Townsend Arts Commission is dedicated to supporting arts that have a recognized quality and significant connection to the City.

Did you know that the Port Townsend Arts Commission provides the only dedicated source of funds to artists and arts organizations in Jefferson County? Because PTAC grants are highly competitive, we encourage you to seek additional sources of funding for your work as well. Here are a couple of regional sources that may be a good fit for your project:

Washington State Arts Commission (ArtsWA): https://www.arts.wa.gov/grants-to-organizations/

Jefferson Community Foundation (JCF): https://jcfgives.org/grants-and-fundraising-support/

Artist Trust: https://artisttrust.org/grants/

Applying for a Grant

PTAC had $27,000 to distribute in grant support in 2025. It held three grant rounds with $9,000 in each and due dates in February, May, and August. Awards were made in March, June, and September.

Please check back for 2026 application deadlines, which will be announced by the end of the year. You may submit a funding proposal at any time. The Application for Financial Support, Funding Guidelines, and Frequently Asked Questions have recently been updated. Please read and follow the new guidelines carefully.

Applications are due by midnight Pacific Time on the due dates, once announced. Applicants have the option of attending grant review meetings, which are held at 3:00pm in Council Chambers at Port Townsend City Hall on the Thursday two weeks after the application deadline. Shortly after applications are received, PTAC will send an email with more meeting details including how to attend virtually.
